Jack Twist, I love you!

Hi, dudes,
[spoiler alert - if you care about the ending of Brokeback Mountain don't read this]
So I was thinking on my walk home about that movie we just saw, Brokeback Mountain, and I decided that maybe it IS revolutionary but I just couldn't see it because I am completely comfortable with hot hollywood studs making out and meaning it. Plus, the making out was pretty minimal. I was expecting WAY more.

But anyway, this story is a "universal" story - everyone else in the movie manages to move on except for Ennis, and that is fucking heartbreaking. His daughter is getting married and it's like he wants to tell the love of his life about it and he fucking can't. DAMN!!!!

If homophobes would go see this movie it might change their hearts, the way Freddy Mercury did for my mom.

Love does not know the house you live in.
Also, I saw Maggie and Jake G. both naked this weekend.

Comments:
I just re-read the short story and it is so beautifully raw, in a way that is hard to capture in movie form, though the dialogue was nearly exact from story to film. What struck me the most in comparing the two, is that in the story version, you don't imagine two hotties in the role of Jack and Ennis(at least I didn't...maybe I'm too much of a realist), you imagine two rough whethered men. Real men, with rough skin and maybe a broken nose, some scars and wrinkles...
Anyway...I think that makes for a setback in the film's "revolutionary" potential. I guess that Hollywood for ya.

true true they're too hot.
but love is love and that's the revolution - the fact that in the end it was sort of a mundane story

i'll have to borrow the short from you.

well, I'm a changed man.. After watching BB Mt. I'm always going to expect Heath to make out with dude. I watched the Brothers Grimm last night and expected (maybe even hoped for, a little) Heath to make sweet out with Matt Damn!on. I NEED to go to Hooters! (just kidding about all this hooters talk, I'm really not much of a macho macho man, plus I dont eat wings)

when i went to see brokeback mountain, i did not cry. however, two nights ago, i went to see 'pride and prejudice' and during the trailer for brokeback mountain, i started crying for real. tears running down my cheeks and little sobs! so odd. its a good movie.
